Flight of the concordes

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Flight of the Concordes is a Grammy Award-winning New Zealand comedy duo composed of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Billing themselves as “Formerly New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo”, the group uses a combination of witty observation, characterisation and acoustic folk guitars to work the audience. The duo’s comedy and music became first the basis of a BBC radio series and then an American television series, which premiered in 2007, also called Flight of the Conchords.

Named Best Alternative Comedy Act at the 2005 US Comedy Arts Festival, Best Newcomer at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and receiving a nomination for the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2003, the duo’s live performances have gained them a worldwide cult following.

Flight of the Concordes is currently being shown on bbc4 on a tuesday night, and the dvd boxsets are available in all good music and dvd stores.

Does anyone have a spare golf tee?

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Ok picture the scene, your off for a nice trek up one of the local mountains, its a nice clear day so you decide to maybe throw in some golf along the way.  As you climb higher you finally find the perfect spot to tee-off, you get out your golf stuff only to realise you’ve forgot to bring a tee, what ever shall we do now you think.  I suppose you could just lay the ball on your rucksack and hit it off there……….or could you?
